“Celebrating Great Local Foods”

Great Local Foods Network is sponsoring a fundraiser, “Celebrating Great Local Foods”, on Saturday, March 31 from 3 :00– 7:00 p.m. at Regional Access featuring music by The Sim Redmond Band and Kambuyu Marimba Ensemble. Food will be offered along with a terrific selection of local wines and beer for sale. Additionally, there will be a live auction conducted by Peggy Haine along with a silent auction for the entire event. Tickets will be $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door. Tickets will be available at Regional Access.
Proceeds will be used:
To fund the Bakemobile, a singular, trailerable, community-built wood fired oven to be used to educate and engage the community in the local foods movement through demonstration and creation of delicious breads, pizzas, baked and roasted food highlighting the benefits of cooking from scratch. The Bakemobile will provide a local foods outreach and connection to a range of audiences at many public and community events. Plus, the Bakemobile will be just plain fun for all!
To continue to develop programs for local food producers such as providing microloans, health insurance, education and mentoring events, building stronger communications and strategies to assist our local food community to grow and develop with local support.

Please consider donating an Auction item to help fund special projects for the Great Local Foods Network. We are looking for a range of things to offer either at our Live or Silent Auction. Consider giving us art, crafts, CSA shares, use of a vacation house, a farm tour and dinner with the farmers, a musical performance, custom designed stationery, a case of wine, a gift certificate for a terrific restaurant, a home baked birthday cake or cupcakes, a localvore picnic for 8, a handknit sweater or mittens, a handmade birdhouse….you get the idea. Please consider all of your own talents, and send something wonderful our way to help suppport our local food community.
